John A. Hay III, one of the founding and managing members of HAY COMPERE PLLC, is a graduate of The University of Texas School of Law. He practices in the areas of business, real estate, mortgage, estate planning, probate, family, and property law, and is certified as a mediator. Prior to forming the Firm, Hay spent eight years in the mortgage industry, most recently as a managing member of Level Funding, LLC, a company rated in the Austin Business Journal's Top 20 Mortgage Companies in Austin. J. Bradley Compere, also a founding and managing member of HAY COMPERE PLLC, graduated from St. Mary's School of Law and began his legal career in 2001, practicing general litigation. Over the past ten years, Compere's practice has developed into both litigation and transactional work, with a focus on business, general corporate matters, real estate, and construction. W. Derek Darby, is a graduate of South Texas College of Law and began his legal career in Houston, Texas before moving to Austin and joining the Firm. He practices in the areas of business, real estate, banking, mortgage document preparation, mortgage lending, regulatory compliance, and administrative law. He has assisted real estate developers, owners, and investors in acquiring, developing, leasing, financing, and disposing of real estate. Darby has represented a variety of institutions in structuring, negotiating, and documenting numerous types of residential and commercial real estate lending transactions. Ray J. Daniel, CMB, is a 1974 graduate of The Bates College of Law at The University of Houston, and has served the mortgage banking industry for the past 39 years in residential mortgage retail production, correspondent lending, and mortgage document preparation. He founded and managed the Law Firm of R.J. Daniel & Associates PC from 1997 through 2010 and served as the President of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association in 2002, as well as Chairman of the State and Local Committee of the MBA and the MBA Board of Directors in Washington, D.C. from 2004 to 2006.
