W. Derek Darby, is a graduate of South Texas College of Law and began his legal career in Houston, Texas before moving to Austin and joining the Firm. Daniel, CMB, is a 1974 graduate of The Bates College of Law at The University of Houston, and has served the mortgage banking industry for the past 39 years in residential mortgage retail production, correspondent lending, and mortgage document preparation. He founded and managed the Law Firm of R.J. Daniel & Associates PC from 1997 through 2010 and served as the President of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association in 2002, as well as Chairman of the State and Local Committee of the MBA and the MBA Board of Directors in Washington, D.C. from 2004 to 2006.
